Rainey's contribution to this elegantly packaged compilation is the composition/improvisation "Sweet Sonk", a distended melody of long, stark tones and rich multiphonics  - the sweet sonk - surrounded by four short movements of sharply juxtaposed saxophone noise.  With precise clarity and an economy of means, the piece moves from its initial jump-cut angularity to a time-stand-still evocation of evaporating sound.  

Additionally, Mueller presents a lush drone of vibrating percussion and Wollsheid brings forth a surprisingly playful electronic collage.
